Modi meets Haryana BJP MLAs; focus on Punjab polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met all 48 BJP MLAs from Haryana, along with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, in New Delhi on October 3. State BJP president Archana Gupta also attended the evening meeting at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg.
Saini described the interaction as “historic and inspiring”. He said the Prime Minister gave guidance on development, public service and organisational work, and stressed that politics should be a means of public service rather than just contesting elections.
According to Saini, Modi asked ministers and MLAs to stay connected with people beyond election periods. The plan includes visits to 30 to 35 villages in every assembly constituency, cleanliness drives, tiffin meetings and a push for girls’ education. The Prime Minister also spoke about making farmers energy producers through schemes like PM-KUSUM and PM Surya Ghar.
Sources said a key focus was the Punjab assembly elections due early next year. Most Haryana BJP MLAs are expected to campaign in Punjab, projecting the state’s governance model to voters there.
