India’s kharif crop output may fall this year, and winter crops are also at risk in rainfed areas, according to a new assessment. Uneven monsoon rain is the main worry.

Chouhan also stressed timely procurement so farmers get fair prices. He asked states to prepare storage and buying plans before the harvest begins.
