The Uttar Pradesh government has extended the re-employment of retired IAS officer Rakesh Kumar Singh-II as CEO of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority and Noida International Airport Limited for another year.

An order from the Industrial Development Department on September 30 extends his tenure from October 1, 2026 to September 30, 2027. Singh, a 2009-batch UP cadre IAS officer, retired on September 30, 2025 and was reappointed on contract for one year.

The move ensures continuity at a critical phase, with the Noida International Airport at Jewar nearing operational readiness. Singh previously served as District Magistrate of Moradabad, Ghaziabad and Kanpur, and as vice-chairperson of the Ghaziabad Development Authority.

YEIDA oversees development around the airport, including industrial parks and a proposed 200-acre multi-modal logistics park at Tappal-Bajna.

The Noida International Airport at Jewar achieved a key milestone with its aerodrome licence from the DGCA in September, moving it closer to commercial operations. YEIDA has also launched schemes for 20 housing and hotel plots near the airport, with e-auctions scheduled for November. The authority’s 93rd board meeting approved a 200-acre multi-modal logistics park at Tappal-Bajna.
