Delhi CEO holds special voter enrolment camps under SIR

The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer organised special voter enrolment camps at colleges and universities on October 7 and 8 to add young electors to the voter list.

The camps are part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Booth Level Officers helped students fill Form 6, the form used to enrol as a new voter. Anyone who turns 18 by October 1, 2026, can apply. Officials say the aim is to make sure no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral roll.

More camps will be held at all polling station locations on October 9 and 11. Special camps are also planned for residents displaced by recent colony demolitions.

Claims and objections can be filed until October 30. Officials say more than 10.28 lakh verification notices have already been disposed of, and the final roll will be published in December.

Context: the drive follows an Election Commission order to enrol all left-out eligible electors through house-to-house visits by BLOs.
