Delhi Gives Cashless Healthcare To 50,000 DJB Pensioners

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday launched a cashless healthcare facility for more than 50,000 Delhi Jal Board pensioners and family pensioners. The scheme was launched under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
The facility covers emergency, planned and non-emergency treatment as well as medical tests at empanelled hospitals. Pensioners will no longer have to pay from their own pockets and then chase reimbursements.
‘Those who gave the best years of their lives in service to Delhi should not have to worry about medical expenses in old age,’ Gupta said. She called it the government’s responsibility and said previous governments had ignored the issue.
Gupta said the campaign marks the Prime Minister’s 25 years of service to the nation. Cabinet minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, Mayor Parvesh Wahi and MLA Satish Upadhyay attended the launch.
Officials said the single-window system will help elderly pensioners the most. Diagnostic tests at empanelled facilities are also covered cashlessly.
