North Bihar soaked as 210mm rain falls in two days

North Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh received extremely heavy rainfall — over 210 mm — on Friday and Saturday, the weather office said.
The heaviest rain fell in Siwan, Gopalganj, East Champaran, Bhojpur and Rohtas districts. More rainfall is expected over the next two to three days across several districts.
The southwest monsoon remains active in north Bihar, though October is generally not considered a wet month for the state. The IMD has flagged isolated heavy to very heavy rain over Bihar.
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is likely across east India over the next three to four days, with gusty winds of 30-40 kmph. Heavy rain is also expected over Gangetic West Bengal and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
Officials have advised residents in low-lying areas to stay alert as water levels rise. The wet spell is part of a broader active phase bringing rain to east and northeast India this week.
