Delhi AQI ‘Very Poor’ for Third Day; Several Areas Severe

Delhi’s air quality stayed in the very poor category for the third consecutive day on Friday. The overall Air Quality Index stood between 305 and 375, as per monitoring data.
Several areas crossed into the severe zone. Alipur recorded 421, while Jahangirpuri and Wazirpur touched 404, levels considered hazardous even for healthy people.
Of the 39 monitoring stations in the city, most reported readings between poor and very poor. A thick haze hung over the capital through the morning, cutting visibility.
Residents reported burning eyes and breathing discomfort. Doctors advise limiting outdoor exertion, especially for children, the elderly and those with respiratory conditions.
Authorities have deployed truck-mounted water sprinklers and other dust-control measures across the city. The ‘No PUCC, No Fuel’ campaign also continues.
The city is waiting for stronger winds to clear the smog. Until then, the CPCB advises residents to track the Sameer app and plan outdoor activity accordingly.
