Netflix confirms The Watcher season 2 with Watts returning

Netflix has confirmed that production on season two of The Watcher will begin this fall in New York.
Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale will reprise their roles as Nora and Dean Brannock. Margo Martindale returns as neighbour Maureen, and Isabel Gravitt is back as daughter Ellie.
The horror-mystery series, created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, debuted in October 2022 and was renewed the following month. It then went quiet for four years.
Season one followed the Brannock family as they moved into a suburban dream home and began receiving ominous letters from someone calling themselves The Watcher.
The show is loosely based on the true story of Derek and Maria Broaddus, who received threatening letters after buying a house in Westfield, New Jersey, in 2014. The real watcher was never identified.
Season one spent five weeks on Netflix’s global Top 10 English TV list and drew 125 million hours viewed in its first week.
Netflix has not revealed plot details for the new season.
Why it matters: the revival ends one of streaming’s longest waits and tests whether the mystery can grip audiences again.
