Spider-Man: Brand New Day crosses $950M at domestic box office

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed $950 million at the North American box office. It is the first film in history to reach that mark domestically. The Tom Holland film has been rewriting box-office records all summer.
Earlier this month, it passed Star Wars: The Force Awakens to become the highest-grossing domestic release ever. It beat the 2015 film's $936.6 million total in 47 days. The film opened in US theatres on July 31.
Worldwide, the film is nearing $2.5 billion, reports say, making it the highest-grossing film of 2026. It is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The movie is expected to arrive on digital platforms on October 6, with discs following in November.
Sony's investment has paid off after a reported $225 million budget. Avengers: Endgame's re-release could still challenge the record. What happens next: all eyes are on whether Brand New Day becomes the first film to earn $1 billion domestically.
