Shakti Shalini may shift to March 2027 to avoid King clash

Maddock Films’ Shakti Shalini may move from its December 24, 2026 release to March 2027. The Aneet Padda-starrer is the next entry in Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe.
Reports say the makers want to avoid a clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s King, which releases on the same Christmas date. The December window is crowded, with Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three arriving on December 18 and Jumanji 3 on December 25.
Actor Vishal Jethwa was asked about the possible shift at an event. He said he had heard about the change but did not confirm it. An official announcement is awaited.
The film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who made Munjya and Thamma. The cast includes Vishal Jethwa, Viineet Kumar Siingh, Seema Biswas and Soham Majumdar.
Shakti Shalini is also Nana Patekar’s posthumous big-screen outing. He plays a mysterious character linked to mystical practices, seen in a traditional look with a red turban.
