Ramayana Part One locks November 5 release, Nov 4 previews

The makers of Ramayana: Part One have finalised the film's release plan, with paid previews in India on November 4 and the full theatrical release on November 5. Diwali falls on November 8 this year.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman and Ravi Dubey portrays Lakshman.

The release will be staggered internationally. North America gets paid previews on November 4, while Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe follow on November 5. The UK, South Africa and Mauritius are scheduled for November 6.

The film is produced by Namit Malhotra's Prime Focus Studios and Yash's Monster Mind Creations. The music is composed by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman.

Earlier plans had targeted a Diwali-day release on November 8 in India. The revised schedule gives the film a head start ahead of the festival.
