Jailer 2 gets U/A 16+ certificate, 165-minute runtime revealed
Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification, with the runtime locked at 165 minutes and 18 seconds. The film releases worldwide on October 15.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the sequel brings back Rajinikanth as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Returning cast members include Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Vinayakan, with Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar returning in cameos.
New additions to the cast include Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, S.J. Suryah, Vijay Sethupathi, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Apeksha Porwal and Jatin Sarna. The trailer, released earlier this week, confirmed the expanded ensemble.
The film will also get a wide IMAX release, marking a first for a Rajinikanth-starrer. Anirudh Ravichander returns to compose the music.
The makers have opted for a digital-first promotional approach. A special programme titled Super Show, featuring Rajinikanth and the ensemble cast, premieres on the SunNXT OTT platform on October 9, six days before the theatrical release.
