Jailer 2 Trailer Out: Rajinikanth Returns on October 15
The trailer of Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’ is out, and the superstar returns as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian.
The trailer dropped on October 5. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster releases in theatres worldwide on October 15.
The nearly three-minute promo shows Muthuvel Pandian living quietly as a van driver before a powerful new enemy, the Kalpaks, forces him back into action.
The ensemble cast includes Vidya Balan as Kantha, Mithun Chakraborty, SJ Suryah and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff return from the first film.
Fans were quick to spot visual similarities between trailer shots and characters from ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Better Call Saul’. Fan-made comparison collages pairing Vidya Balan with Lydia Rodarte-Quayle and Mithun Chakraborty with Hector Salamanca went viral.
A mysterious silhouette in the trailer has fuelled speculation about a Hrithik Roshan cameo. The first ‘Jailer’ earned Rs 604.50 crore worldwide, setting a high bar for the sequel.
