‘Pritam and Pedro’ becomes India’s most-watched OTT show
Rajkumar Hirani’s web series ‘Pritam and Pedro’ has become the most-watched Indian streaming show ever, recording over 31 million views and 73 million watch hours.
The JioHotstar series, created by Hirani and directed by Avinash Arun, stars Arshad Warsi, Vir Hirani, Vikrant Massey, Boman Irani and Mona Singh. The cybercrime comedy-thriller is set in Goa.
According to Ormax, the show clocked 23 million unique viewers in India and is projected to reach 27 million. No other web series crossed even 20 million viewers in 2026. It also has an Ormax Power Rating of 76, the highest for a non-franchise Hindi series since 2024.
Arshad Warsi plays Pedro, an old-school policeman transferred to the IT cell, while Vir Hirani plays Pritam, a young coding whiz. Their unlikely partnership drives the six-episode series.
The show has trended across seven languages on JioHotstar. Its success marks a shift in streaming tastes, with light-hearted, family-friendly storytelling beating dark crime thrillers in the viewership charts.
