Drishyam 3: The Conclusion is pacing toward a record opening day at the Indian box office.
Live estimates on Friday put the Day 1 India nett collection at Rs 58.80 crore by 4:12 PM IST, with 44.2 per cent occupancy across 16,369 shows. About 17.77 lakh tickets were sold.
Bollywood Hungama reported the film crossed Rs 33.50 crore nett by 5 PM, after collecting Rs 15.33 crore nett by noon with 41 per cent occupancy.
Advance bookings set the pace. The film entered Bollywood’s all-time top five in pre-sales with Rs 27.92 crore and sold 810,000 tickets on BookMyShow.
Trade analysts project a Day 1 total between Rs 45 crore and Rs 55 crore. That would beat Singham Again’s Rs 43.50 crore nett, giving Ajay Devgn the biggest opening of his career.
The Gandhi Jayanti holiday helped footfalls. The film stars Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Shriya Saran, Jaideep Ahlawat and Prakash Raj, and is directed by Abhishek Pathak.
