Seven honoured with KIIT-KISS ‘Is One’ lifetime awards

Seven personalities from education, public service and social development have been honoured with the KIIT-KISS ‘Is One’ Lifetime Achievement Awards. The awards were announced in Bhubaneswar on October 5.
The awards recognise individuals whose work has created a lasting impact in their fields. KIIT and KISS, the Bhubaneswar-based education institutions, have built a tradition of honouring leaders who combine professional excellence with service to society.
Lifetime achievement awards of this kind celebrate careers that stretch over decades. They also put a spotlight on the causes the winners championed, from expanding access to education to strengthening public institutions.
Motilal Oswal, co-founder and managing director of Motilal Oswal Financial Services, advised students to follow three principles in life: learn, earn and return. Senior journalist Chitra Tripathi said the dream of a Viksit Bharat could be seen taking shape at KISS and urged students to take inspiration from KIIT and KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta.
The ‘Is One’ awards add to a growing list of honours given by Indian educational institutions to global achievers. Organisers say the awards reflect the institutions’ belief that education and social service go hand in hand.
