Delhi University has suspended three LLB students of Law Centre-II after an FIR was filed over the alleged stalking and harassment of two women students. The university has also banned them from entering the campus.

The three students have been identified in the proctor’s notices as Naman, Abhinav Kumar and Abhimanyu Kumar. The action was taken under Clause 3(e) of Ordinance XV-B of the Delhi University Act, 1922.

The incident took place on the evening of September 23 in Mukherjee Nagar. Delhi Police registered an FIR under Sections 78, 79 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita after a complaint by one of the women.

A video of the alleged incident surfaced online. In it, one of the women said an SUV pulled up near them and its occupants made inappropriate remarks. When confronted, the men allegedly hurled abuses and followed them.

The university said the suspension is an administrative step and the criminal case will follow its own course. All allegations are yet to be tested in court.
