Northern Army Commander reviews security in Srinagar

Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma chaired a comprehensive security review and coordination meeting in Srinagar on October 4, the Army said.
The meeting reviewed the prevailing security situation in Jammu and Kashmir. Senior officers from the Army, police and other security agencies attended. They discussed coordination between agencies, real-time intelligence sharing and preparedness for the winter season.
General Sharma stressed the need for close inter-agency synergy to maintain peace and stability in the region. He called for sustained operations against terror infrastructure and stronger grid security along the Line of Control.
The Northern Command, headquartered in Udhampur, oversees the Army’s operations in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Security reviews are held regularly, especially ahead of winter when infiltration attempts often rise.
The meeting comes amid continued counter-terror operations in the Union Territory. The Army chief has previously said that the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir remains under control but requires constant vigilance.
