PC Jeweller Turns Debt-Free After Clearing All Bank Dues

PC Jeweller has told stock exchanges that it has discharged all outstanding bank debt across its 14-member lender consortium, declaring itself debt-free. The final repayment was completed on Friday, September 25, ahead of the scheduled deadlines.
The jeweller had been clearing dues under a settlement agreement signed with the banks on September 30, 2024. The company said the completion of the repayment would materially strengthen its balance sheet and financial position in the sector.
Shares of PC Jeweller rose about 4% in early trade on Monday to touch Rs 14.64 on the NSE, against a previous close of Rs 14.11. Trading volumes crossed 141 million shares across the NSE and BSE in the morning session, and the stock is up more than 50% this year.
The announcement closes a multi-year debt resolution chapter for the company, which had been mired in lender disputes. Investors will now watch whether the cleaner balance sheet translates into stronger growth in the coming quarters.
