President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says updated intelligence shows Russia is preparing a massive new attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

The warning came as ballistic missiles struck Kyiv. Ukrainian officials said the strikes followed Zelenskyy’s alert about a planned large-scale assault.

Russia has repeatedly targeted Ukraine’s power grid ahead of winter. Past campaigns left millions without heat and electricity during freezing months.

Kyiv is asking Western partners for more air-defence systems. Zelenskyy has said continued support for air defence is essential to defend against both cruise missiles and drones.

The visit of military representatives from all 32 NATO member states to Kyiv this week has added urgency to the appeal. Ukraine wants the alliance to keep supplies flowing as strikes intensify.

The Statesman reported ballistic missiles rocked Kyiv after the warning. Air raid alerts sounded across the capital as defences engaged incoming targets.

ANews and Internazionale carried Zelenskyy’s warning. Ukraine’s allies are being asked to speed up air-defence deliveries before winter sets in.
