Russian Drone Strike Sinks Turkish Ship; Indian Crew Hurt

Two people were killed after a Russian drone strike hit a Turkish vessel carrying corn in the Black Sea. An Indian crew member was among the injured.
The attack sank the ship, according to Indian media reports. Two people were killed in total, including the ship’s captain. The vessel was carrying a crew that included Indian nationals.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned what he called a horrific Russian strike on the boat. He said Russia used two drones against the civilian vessel.
The incident is the latest attack on merchant shipping in the Black Sea. Ukraine has accused Russia of targeting grain exports travelling through the corridor.
India’s embassy is in touch with the injured crew member. The strike adds to concerns about the safety of civilian sailors in the region’s waters.
ETV Bharat reported two killed and one Indian injured in the strike. The ship was carrying corn, part of the Black Sea grain trade that has faced repeated attacks.
