Four Killed in Shooting in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Four people were killed in a shooting in Green Hill, just outside the capital Kingstown in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, police said late Friday.
Police Commissioner Trevor Bailey said officers responding to reports of gunfire found two bodies on a public road, a woman’s body in a parked vehicle, and a fourth body on an adjacent piece of land. All four appeared to have gunshot wounds.
Four other people were taken to Milton Cato Memorial Hospital with gunshot injuries. Two were treated and released, while two remained hospitalized on Saturday.
No arrests had been made and police had not established a motive. A manhunt was underway. Police also registered another killing on Saturday and were investigating whether it was linked.
National Security Minister St. Clair Leacock condemned the “unfortunate” and “unnecessary” violence. Police have recorded 37 murders this year in the 32-island nation, where authorities say gang retaliation attacks are driving the toll.
