Fireflies.ai launches free Talk voice dictation for work apps

Fireflies.ai has launched Fireflies Talk, a voice dictation feature that lets users speak instead of typing across their work apps. The launch was announced on September 29.
Talk works with email, Slack, documents, AI prompts and CRM fields on Mac and Windows. Users start it with a keyboard shortcut and dictate directly into the app they are using. The converted text appears at the cursor.
The feature is free with unlimited usage across all Fireflies plans, including the free tier. It supports more than 100 languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi and Sindhi.
Talk automatically cleans up and punctuates the transcribed text, so users can speak naturally without saying “comma” or “full stop”. In Slack, saying a teammate’s name turns it into the matching @mention.
“Fireflies started with a pretty simple idea: you shouldn’t have to spend a meeting typing everything down,” said Krish Ramineni, CEO and co-founder of Fireflies.ai.
The company says dictation audio is sent for transcription but the completed text is neither stored nor used to train its AI models. Fireflies claims Talk meets SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA standards.
