SpaceX is set to fly its Starship rocket to orbit for the first time on Monday. The vehicle's 14th test flight targets liftoff from Starbase, Texas, in a 75-minute window that opens at 7:15 a.m. CDT.

The mission, dubbed Starlink 31-1, would place 26 next-generation Starlink V3 satellites into orbit. It would be the first time Starship deploys operational satellites in space, Spaceflight Now reported.

About 25 minutes after liftoff, the Ship 41 upper stage is planned to reignite one of its engines to raise itself into a stable orbit. If the burn does not take place, the craft will follow a suborbital path like earlier test flights.

SpaceX says the mission will complete about six orbits over roughly 10 hours. It will also test changes to the heat shield, including sturdier tile mountings, meant to protect the ship during re-entry.

The Federal Aviation Administration authorized the launch on September 26, according to published reports. If the flight succeeds, it would move Starship from experimental testing toward routine orbital missions for the company's satellite network.
