Shreyas Iyer’s India face Sri Lanka in Asian Games semifinal

Defending champions India face Sri Lanka in the second men’s cricket semi-final of the Asian Games 2026 today, with the match starting at 10 AM IST at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan.
Shreyas Iyer’s star-studded side, featuring Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, narrowly avoided a massive upset against Japan in Sano last week and will look to shake off the rust on the slow Nisshin surface, which is expected to suit spinners.
Sri Lanka, led by Sahan Arachchige, field a relatively inexperienced squad with Niroshan Dickwella and Dushan Hemantha the senior names. The islanders have managed just one win in their last ten T20 internationals and have struggled to breach 150.
Should rain intervene again, India progress automatically on superior seeding — a washout would end Sri Lanka’s campaign without a ball bowled in the knockouts. The match will be shown live on the Sony Sports Network and streamed on SonyLIV, with the gold-medal match scheduled for October 3.
