UWCL: Barcelona rout Roma 6-0 as Chelsea hold Lyon

Barcelona produced the statement result of the Women’s Champions League league phase on Wednesday night, thrashing Roma 6-0 in Rome on Matchday 2. Caroline Graham Hansen opened the scoring and was named Player of the Match, with braces for Hansen and Claudia Pina, a goal for Ewa Pajor and a Shukurat Oladipo own goal completing the rout. Pajor is now the leading scorer of the league phase.
Bayern Munich also won comfortably, beating Benfica 3-0 through Klara Buhl, Pernille Harder and Franziska Kett. There was frustration for the English sides: OL Lyonnes and Chelsea played out a goalless draw, with Lucy Bronze named Player of the Match, while Arsenal squandered a 2-0 lead at Paris FC to draw 2-2, conceding an 87th-minute penalty.
Juventus completed the night’s results with a 3-0 win at Hacken. The action continues today with four more Matchday 2 fixtures: Austria Wien host Inter, HB Koge face Servette, Manchester City take on Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain meet OH Leuven. Barcelona’s demolition job sends an early warning to the rest of the competition.
