Barrett and Taylor return as All Blacks name Bledisloe squad
The All Blacks have named a 34-man squad for the Bledisloe Cup tests against Australia. Lock Scott Barrett is back after injury. Veteran hooker Codie Taylor, 35, also returns.
Shannon Frizell is back in the squad as well. The team gathered after eight straight games on the road. Coaches said they were keen to start the home leg of the series.
The first test is on October 10 at Eden Park in Auckland, kicking off at 7:10 pm local time. The return test is on October 17 at the Accor Stadium in Sydney.
Several players miss out through injury. Ruben Love is out with an ankle problem. Patrick Tuipulotu has a calf injury. Ardie Savea is sidelined with a shoulder issue. Luke Jacobson is also unavailable.
New Zealand have held the Bledisloe Cup since 2003. Australia will be desperate to end the long wait. Both Tests are expected to draw full houses.
