The Yash Chopra Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Yash Raj Films, has selected 11 children of registered Hindi film industry workers and FWICE union members as its 2026-27 scholarship recipients. The announcement was made on September 28, 2026.

For the first time, the programme includes scholars pursuing Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and other technology-led courses. The foundation has also expanded eligibility to engineering, IT, management, law and medical studies, moving beyond traditional media, film and creative disciplines.

Each scholar receives financial assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh towards course fees, chosen through merit- and need-based screening from more than 300 registered applicants. Named scholars include Nidhi Subhashchandra Yadav (B.Sc. Robotics and AI Systems), Aryan Singh (B.Tech CSE AI & ML) and Valencia Rojiyar Madhura (B.Tech CSE Cyber Security).

YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani said the 11 scholars span media, management, robotics, artificial intelligence, engineering and medicine. The foundation’s latest cohort reflects a broader set of ambitions among film workers’ families than when the programme began.
