Russia fired about 170 drones at Ukraine overnight from September 26 to 27, Ukraine’s Air Force said. The attack included 76 jet-powered Shahed drones, plus Gerbera and decoy drones launched from Russia and occupied Crimea. Air defences downed or suppressed 147 of the drones by 7:30 a.m. on September 27, the Air Force said. Strikes were recorded at 18 locations, and debris fell at eight others. At least 14 civilians were killed and 57 injured in Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past day, officials said. In Kyiv, the attack marked a third straight night of strikes on the capital. One man was killed and four people injured, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said. Four people were killed in the Zaporizhzhia region. One person was killed and two injured in Odesa. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia attacked residential buildings, energy infrastructure and civilian facilities in eight regions. He said Moscow launched more than 2,200 drones over the past week. Kyiv called the strikes a deliberate attempt to damage Ukraine’s energy and communications networks.
