Minnesota stuns Michigan, ends 47-year home drought

Minnesota beat Michigan 20-14 on Saturday for its first home win over the Wolverines since 1977, sparking a field-storming celebration.
The Golden Gophers reclaimed the Little Brown Jug — college football’s oldest rivalry trophy — for the first time since 2014.
Coach P.J. Fleck called it possibly the best day of his life outside his wedding and the birth of his children. It was also his 100th career win.
Minnesota’s defence held Michigan to just 180 yards of offence. Wolverines quarterback Bryce Underwood completed 10 of 21 passes with two interceptions.
Drake Lindsey threw a go-ahead touchdown pass to Darius Taylor in the fourth quarter after Michigan took a 14-7 halftime lead.
Fans poured onto the field at Huntington Bank Stadium as “Mr. Brightside” blared. The Big Ten has a discretionary policy on field-storming fines.
The win lifted Minnesota to 4-1 and gave Fleck his biggest victory since the magical 2019 season.
