Trump Says He No Longer Wants a Deal With Iran

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he no longer wants to reach a deal with Iran, in remarks at a rally in San Antonio. He said Iran would offer anything to get the United States to stop the war.

According to CNBC, Trump told the crowd: “I think the deal isn’t really something that I want to do.” The comments came even as his envoy Steve Witkoff continues talks with Iran, which Trump said are making “very good progress.”

NBC News reported that Trump and his national security team discussed resuming large-scale military operations in the coming weeks. Axios reported the plans include massive bombing of Iran’s energy, infrastructure and nuclear targets.

The USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier group and additional Marines are heading to the Middle East, with about 10,000 more troops expected by late November.

The war is now in its eighth month. It began in February with joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
