Trump Makes Closing Pitch For Nobel Peace Prize

President Donald Trump has made his closing argument for the Nobel Peace Prize, two days before the award is announced.
“I settled eight wars, another one is coming,” Trump told the Washington Examiner at the White House on Wednesday. “I did things that nobody else has ever done.”
The Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on Friday by the Norwegian Nobel Institute.
Trump said it would be “a great discredit” to the Nobel Committee if it did not honour him.
He compared himself to former President Barack Obama. Trump said Obama “didn’t do anything” and still did not know why he received the prize in 2009.
Trump also recalled that Venezuela’s opposition leader Maria Corina Machado gave him her 2025 medal during an Oval Office visit earlier this year.
He defended his military campaign against Iran, saying it stopped “the total obliteration of the world” by preventing Tehran from getting a nuclear weapon.
Analysts say the Iran war is seen as a major strike against Trump’s case for the award.
