Israel Marks Three Years Since October 7 Hamas Attack

Israelis marked three years since the October 7 Hamas attack that killed about 1,200 people and set off the Gaza war.
In Kfar Aza, residents held a vigil for the dead. A trumpet played as names of the victims were read out.
Hamas militants had killed dozens in the kibbutz and taken 19 hostages back into Gaza. Most residents remain displaced.
Protesters gathered outside parliament in Jerusalem. They blame Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the security failure.
Some held signs reading 'The people will remember October 7 on October 27'. Israel holds a general election in 20 days.
Netanyahu has rejected blame and resisted an independent inquiry. That has angered families of the victims.
Israel's Gaza operations have killed more than 74,000 people, according to reports. A US-brokered ceasefire halted major fighting.
The anniversary comes as the election nears. It is being seen as a referendum on Netanyahu's long tenure.
