Coal India fixes Rs 1,10,250 PLR bonus; 312 days’ work needed

Coal India has fixed a Performance Linked Reward bonus of Rs 1,10,250 for the financial year 2025-26. Workers must complete 312 days of attendance to receive the full amount.

The decision was finalised at the Apex Joint Consultative Committee meeting held on October 3, 2026. Management and recognised trade union representatives agreed on the figure and the attendance benchmark.

Attendance between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026 will decide each worker’s payout. Those with fewer than 312 days of duty will get a proportionately reduced amount under the applicable rules.

The bonus covers eligible employees of Coal India and its subsidiary companies. Workers dismissed from service, including in vigilance cases, are excluded from the payment.

The annual PLR is a key part of the pay package for the coal workforce. Union leaders had pressed for a higher payout citing record production, while management linked the final figure to attendance discipline.
