Dog Leads Police to Fallen Owner in Kansas

A loyal dog in Leawood, Kansas led a police officer to its owner, who had fallen and been lying on a garage floor for more than three hours.
An officer on patrol spotted the dog standing alone in the middle of a residential road, wearing a leash with no owner in sight. The dog barked at the patrol car. When the officer told it to go home, the dog led him half a block to a house instead.
There, the garage door was open. Inside, the homeowner was on the floor, unable to get up. “Hi, are you OK?” the officer asked, before calling for medical help.
Bodycam footage released by the Leawood Police Department shows the dog looking back as it led the officer up the driveway. A second dog was waiting at the house.
Police said the resident was treated by medical staff and is now recovering safely at home. The department called the dog a loyal companion.
