India begin five-match T20I series against West Indies on October 6

India and West Indies open a five-match T20I series on October 6 in Lucknow, with the tour running until October 17, multiple reports said. The matches will be played in Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
Shreyas Iyer leads India in the format. His team has recovered well after a rocky start under his captaincy and has won nine matches in a row, including the Asian Games 2026 gold medal, Sportskeeda reported.
Former wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik said on Cricbuzz that India should not experiment too much with the top order. He also backed the pace attack of Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav and Mayank Yadav in Jasprit Bumrah’s absence.
India won the preceding ODI series 2-1 under Shubman Gill, with wins in Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati. West Indies avoided a whitewash by chasing 352 in the third ODI in Mullanpur.
After the T20Is, India head to New Zealand for an all-format tour. The first T20I begins at 7 p.m. IST at Lucknow’s Ekana stadium. The series will be telecast on Star Sports and streamed on JioHotstar.
