SpaceX Crew-13 docks after record 8-hour trip to ISS

SpaceX’s Crew-13 mission has docked with the International Space Station after a record-fast trip. The Dragon spacecraft Grace lifted off on October 1 at 11:10 am EDT aboard a Falcon 9 rocket.
The four-person crew is commanded by Watkins, who becomes the first Black woman to command an orbital spaceflight crew. She is joined by pilot Delaney, mission specialist Kutryk of Canada, and cosmonaut Teteryatnikov of Russia.
The spacecraft docked at about 7 pm the same day, completing the journey in 7 hours and 50 minutes – the fastest US launch-to-docking time on record.
The crew will spend about six months aboard the station conducting science experiments. NASA administrator Jared Isaacman praised the mission’s speed and precision.
It is the 13th operational commercial crew flight to the station. The mission continues the steady cadence of astronaut rotations aboard the orbiting laboratory.
