The trailer of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 will be unveiled on October 5, just ten days before the film’s theatrical release on October 15. Sun Pictures announced the date with a new poster.

The trailer will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Jailer. Rajinikanth returns as Muthuvel Pandian.

The cast includes S. J. Suryah, Vidya Balan, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Vijay Sethupathi, alongside returning actors Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Shivarajkumar. Mithun Chakraborty also features.

Anirudh Ravichander has composed the music. The 12-track album is out, with singles including One Name, a tribute to Rajinikanth’s 50-year career, and Bindass featuring Nora Fatehi.

The makers have confirmed the film for an IMAX release. Jailer 2 is among the most awaited Tamil releases of the year.

The film’s music rollout has kept fan momentum high. Anirudh released the complete 12-track jukebox after the singles, and a streaming event featuring the composer was planned for October 3. The trailer premiere on October 5 will be the final major promotional beat before the film opens worldwide on October 15.
