Palestine thrashed China 5-0 in an international football friendly at the Chongqing Longxing Stadium on Friday. The result closed Palestine’s training camp for the game, known as the “Fida’i” camp.

Mohammed Al-Hamlawi scored twice in the first half, in the 16th and 22nd minutes. Both goals were confirmed after VAR reviews. Oday Dabbagh added a third in first-half stoppage time and struck again in the 54th minute.

Mohammad Al-Qaq completed the rout in the third minute of stoppage time. China made five substitutions at half-time but could not change the flow of the game. The hosts hit the woodwork twice from free-kicks in the second half.

Palestine are ranked 95th in the FIFA rankings, four places below China at 91st. The heavy defeat is a setback for China’s preparations for upcoming qualifiers. Palestine showed sharp finishing and disciplined defending throughout.

The friendly was part of both teams’ preparation schedules. Palestine’s training camp in Chongqing included closed-door sessions before the match. The 5-0 scoreline was one of the biggest wins in recent Palestinian football history.
