Zelenskyy Warns Russia Is Preparing Massive Attack
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukrainian intelligence shows Russia is preparing a “massive attack”. He gave the warning in his nightly video address on Tuesday.
“There is updated intelligence indicating that Russia is preparing a massive attack,” Zelenskyy said. He added that Ukrainian services and the air force are ready to respond “to the extent permitted by our available means of defence”.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine’s position depends on what its allies supply. “A great deal depends on our partners,” he said. He called political will “critically important”. He named the United States and Europe in particular.
On social media he wrote: “We are preparing countermeasures.” He said deadlines had been set for priority tasks.
The warning comes as Russia claims it intercepted nearly 900 Ukrainian drones overnight. Moscow says a fuel depot near the capital caught fire in the attack.
Ukraine has stepped up strikes on Russian oil targets in recent weeks. Both sides deny deliberately targeting civilians.
