Witkoff, Kushner To Meet Ukrainians In Miami Friday

US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will meet Ukrainian representatives in Miami on Friday to discuss new ideas for ending the war with Russia, Reuters reported on October 8, citing a US source. Ukraine’s team includes chief of staff Kyrylo Budanov, intelligence chief Rustem Umerov and negotiator David Arakhamia.
National security advisers from Britain, France and Germany, plus NATO and EU officials, were also invited. The talks are expected to cover security guarantees for Ukraine and a post-war prosperity plan. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the conflict was at a dangerous stalemate. President Donald Trump has said he plans to speak to Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the meeting, which is expected to run for two days. The talks follow recent visits by the envoys to Moscow and Kyiv. Zelensky said the talks were confirmed after a Russian strike on buses killed 30 people in Kramatorsk, one of the deadliest attacks in weeks.
US officials said the envoys would also discuss a post-war prosperity plan for Ukraine.
