Russia’s jet drones kill at least 10 across Ukraine

Russia’s latest aerial assault on Ukraine killed at least 10 people and injured more than 80, with jet-powered drones striking deep into cities including the capital Kyiv, officials said.
A drone hit the National Academy of Sciences in central Kyiv, killing two people, while a separate strike on a business centre in Dnipro killed three. Medical facilities and data centres were also damaged, and fires broke out in several districts.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Russia had begun deploying faster, jet-powered drones in its attacks, putting new strain on Ukraine’s air defences. He said new interceptor systems were being actively tested but still needed refinement to reach sufficient effectiveness and scale.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha appealed to allies for more air-defence support. Russia has recently widened its strikes beyond warehouses, ports and energy infrastructure to data centres and telecom facilities, in what analysts describe as a dangerous new phase of the air war.
