Russia has struck the Kyiv headquarters of Kyivstar, Ukraine’s largest mobile provider. The company confirmed the hit to Interfax Ukraine on Saturday.

Russia’s defence ministry said it also hit a data centre belonging to Vodafone Ukraine, the country’s second-largest network. Vodafone has not confirmed the damage.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said a data centre in Kyiv was struck twice on Sunday morning. He said two children and one adult were wounded in the attack.

In the past week, Russian strikes on data centres of Ukrainian internet providers have caused outages for about 100,000 households. Repairs are still under way in several regions.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Russia is targeting data centres to break the flow of information. He said rapid alerts about air raids depend on these networks.

Kyivstar said its engineers were working to restore full service.

The company said backup systems kept most calls working. It asked users to report long outages. Ukraine’s cyber agency said it is helping providers harden their networks.
