Israel Kills Turkish Aid Group Worker in Gaza Strike

Israel’s military said on Sunday it killed a Palestinian working with the Turkish aid group Deniz Feneri in a strike in Gaza’s Khan Yunis area.
The military identified the man as Saqr Nabil Musa Qaisi and said he was a member of Hamas’s elite Nukhba force who took part in the October 7, 2023 attack. It said he headed Deniz Feneri and used the role to support Hamas. The military provided no evidence for the claims.
Deniz Feneri said Qaisi was one of its field volunteers, not its director, and had helped deliver aid to people in need. The group’s statement did not address the Israeli allegations.
Al-Aqsa Hospital earlier announced Qaisi’s death in a strike on a vehicle. The military also said it killed a Hamas armed-wing commander in a separate Khan Yunis strike.
The strike adds strain to humanitarian operations in Gaza, where aid groups work under severe conditions. Gaza’s health ministry says Israeli forces have killed more than 1,440 people since a ceasefire was announced last October.
