Iran’s parliament speaker has warned that no country in the region will be able to sell oil if Iran remains blocked from exporting its own crude. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf made the remark amid rising tensions over sanctions.

Qalibaf said oil security in the region is linked, and blocking Iran’s exports would have consequences for the whole region’s trade. The comments were carried by Iranian state-linked media and regional outlets.

Iran has faced strict sanctions on its oil exports for years. The country has repeatedly threatened to disrupt shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for global oil supplies.

The warning comes as diplomatic pressure on Tehran continues over its nuclear programme and regional activities. Western nations have tightened enforcement of oil sanctions in recent months.

Energy markets watch such statements closely. Any disruption to Gulf oil flows could push up global crude prices and hit importing countries, including India.
