India, Ghana Exchange Two MoUs During Jaishankar Visit

India and Ghana exchanged two memoranda of understanding on Wednesday during External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's visit to the West African nation.
The first MoU links the Zoological Survey of India with the University of Ghana for cooperation in zoological research. The second pairs the Indian Council of Agricultural Research with Ghana's CSIR-Crops Research Institute for farm science collaboration.
Jaishankar is on a three-nation tour of Africa from October 6 to 10. The visit aims to deepen India's partnerships across the continent in areas like agriculture, science and education.
Officials said the agreements reflect growing academic and research ties between the two countries. Ghana is an important partner for India in West Africa, with cooperation spanning trade, capacity building and development projects.
The minister's tour comes amid a broader Indian push to strengthen engagement with African nations. India has hosted multiple India-Africa summits and regularly sends high-level delegations to the region.
Further announcements on trade and development cooperation are expected as the tour continues to its next stops.
