India Offers Broadest Peace Plan for Russia-Ukraine War

Ukraine says India has offered the most comprehensive peace proposal yet to end the Russia-Ukraine war. Four countries have sent proposals to Kyiv.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Ukraine has received ceasefire proposals from India, Turkey, Egypt and the United States. He described India’s plan as the broadest. It covers an energy truce, a Black Sea ceasefire and the safety of shipping and grain exports.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar confirmed India is now in direct talks with both Russia and Ukraine. He said India has moved from supporting dialogue to active mediation. He discussed the effort at a consultative committee meeting on India-Russia relations.
Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ideas for a peaceful solution. He said Modi has “good ideas” for finding mutually acceptable solutions.
Kyiv says it is open to different ceasefire formats. But it wants any deal to cover attacks on energy and port infrastructure, not just front-line fighting.
India’s growing role marks its biggest diplomatic step in the conflict so far. Whether Moscow formally replies will decide what happens next.
