Ukraine is now intercepting 57 per cent of Russia’s jet-propelled attack drones, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on September 28.

The figure, reported by United24 Media, marks an improvement on the 55 per cent rate Zelensky cited two days earlier, when he said more than 1,500 of 2,730 drones had been neutralised.

Jet drones are among Russia’s newest weapons — faster than the propeller-driven Shaheds and harder to shoot down. Ukraine has rushed interceptor drones and electronic warfare systems to counter them.

Defence analysts say the rising interception rate reflects rapid adaptation. Each percentage point means fewer strikes on cities and power infrastructure.

The claims have not been independently verified. But if sustained, the trend would blunt one of Moscow’s main tools for pressuring Ukraine’s air defences. Kyiv says interceptor production is now a top wartime priority.
