Trump’s Board of Peace unveils $2.45 billion Gaza recovery plan
US President Donald Trump’s Board of Peace has unveiled a $2.45 billion plan for Gaza’s recovery over the next six months. The plan was presented on September 23 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
The package covers 66 programmes. About $1 billion is set for infrastructure. Another $400 million will go to shelters. Debris removal and explosive clearance get $275 million. Hospital repairs get $50 million. Security operations account for about $885 million.
The physical damage in Gaza is estimated at $35.2 billion. Full recovery and reconstruction could cost about $71.4 billion, officials said.
The Board said $18 billion has been pledged so far, but only $280 million has actually been handed over. The first phase of the plan is not yet fully funded.
Jared Kushner and US envoy Steve Witkoff presented the plan. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said more countries have pledged financial help since the launch.
