Brent crude tops $100 after Houthi attacks on Saudi sites

Crude oil futures rose on Tuesday after reports that Houthi forces attacked several sites in Saudi Arabia. December Brent futures traded at $100.58 a barrel, up 0.26 percent, in morning trade. November WTI futures rose 0.20 percent to $89.61.
In India, October crude futures on the MCX traded around Rs 8,667 per barrel in early trade. Prices have stayed elevated amid tensions in West Asia and uncertainty over supply.
The jump in oil came even as global equities advanced. US stock futures pointed higher, with the Nasdaq closing at a record high in the previous session and the S&P 500 near its own record. Gold rose to $4,205 an ounce, while the 10-year Treasury yield eased to 5.26 percent.
Markets will watch further developments in the region. Any sustained disruption to Saudi output could push prices higher and feed into global inflation. For India, a major crude importer, a higher oil bill can pressure the trade balance and fuel prices.
